HabFest@30 (May 17 to April 18)
Habitat Technology Group embarked on its journey, in providing building needs of people and organisations from all walks of life through its motto of sustainable and eco- friendly construction policies, way back in 1987.
A year-long anniversary celebration was hosted to mark the 30-years of its dedicated service. The celebrations was kick started with a four-day Technology Fest named 'Koodu', organized at Poojapura ground in Thiruvananthapuram from 11th to 14th May 2017.
Live Construction Demo @ Koodu
Koodu was a unique event that featured a live demonstration on new cost effective techniques of architecture and exhibited a real minimalist house using limited space to shed light on how to maximize space and resources.
Building Material Exhibition
There was an exhibition of alternate and unconventional building materials which can be used for organic architecture and more such knowledgeable information about contemporary building ways. The 4-day event also included daily seminars and talks on alternative and sustainable building technologies. A host of stalls offering cost-effective solutions for construction requirements such as roof and floor tiles, interlocking bricks, rainwater harvesting, solar panels, biogas plants, furniture and loans have been put up at the fete.
Free Consultation @ Koodu
Koodu also offered free consultation on housing and housing solutions. Besides the architects and engineers of Habitat, many of the alumni came forward to give free consultation to the public during the event. Hundreds of people availed the benefits of free expert consultancy during the days from these professionals.
Habitat presents National Habitat Green Architecture Award
As part of the HabFest@30, Habitat presented National Habitat Green Architecture Award to renowned sustainable building solution providers - W R Reddy, R Chandradutt, Kirtee Shah, V Sunil Kumar and Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS). The awards were given away at a star-studded function by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the last day of Koodu on 14th May 2018.
